BCS were required to manage and co-ordinate a programme of work taking place at sites across Europe such that our client could understand the overall picture at programme and project level. All projects were undertaken in live environments where uptime was sacrosanct.
A six year Europe wide rolling capital programme to replace life expired equipment and remove single point of failure risk from existing data centre electrical and mechanical engineering infrastructure. The programme was to address critical risk to service provision, enhancing resilience and aligned assets to global design standards. The site by site programme of work was matched to a risk assessed schedule of issues developed through survey and operational events.
To provide comprehensive programme and project level controls to facilitate a consistent delivery platform and governance generating live data. The data from this platform was to be used to prioritise and deliver the workstreams across eleven countries. We were able to leverage our experience of Europe wide project delivery to overcome challenges of culturally diverse working practices and business environments ensuring that the consistency in the roll out of the programme could be maintained.
